The historic city, Panipat, is traceable to Haryana, which is a state in northern India. In Panipat, the Government has set up an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) for providing vocational education to aspirants who want to gain technical know-how.
Vocational training is offered by Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and Industrial Training Centers (ITCs) across Indian states. The ITIs are funded by the Government; and ITCs, by private companies.
Aspirants can enrol for vocational trade programs under engineering and non-engineering categories. Besides, they can apply for trades under the National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) and State Council of Vocational Training (SCVT) groups. The NCVT works at a pan-India level; and the SCVT, at the state level.
Further, the duration of the vocational programs start from 1 year and go up to 2 years. Also, applicants must pass Class 8th or 10th or 12th to be eligible for applying to the trade courses.
The Panipat ITI holds courses in different trades. These include Turner, Wireman, Machinist, Fitter Carpenter, Foundryman, Sheet Metal Worker, Stenography, among others.
The candidates seeking admission in the vocational programs that the Panipat ITI conducts are advised to study the given eligibility norms. Next, they must apply only if they are eligible.
As part of vocational training, the ITIs and ITCs offer Apprenticeship opportunities as well. The Apprenticeship training program lasts for 1 year where the pupils can work in industries to gain experience in their chosen trades. Additionally, upon course completion, the students receive NCVT or SCVT certifications that make them eligible for employment in companies. They can approach the various employment exchanges for getting employment in varied industries.
